General Open House Information

The open house consists of two parts:

• Virtual interview weekends (Sunday - Monday), Feb 13-14 and Feb 27-28.

  • Sunday focuses on social and cultural events so that prospective students can get a feel for program culture and logistics in a low-pressure environment. Sunday will also include a program overview given by the program directors, and an informational event.

  • Monday is mostly about interviews with faculty. Each prospective student will have 4 faculty interviews in the afternoon. In the late afternoon and early evening, there will be a student panel followed by a reception with faculty and students. Between interviews, we invite you to hang out on our gather.town to meet each other - we will also have current students present if you have more questions or want to debrief your interviews.

  • You will also have one interview with a current student - either on Sunday afternoon, Monday morning, or Monday evening.

  • Please consider the optional events as HIGHLY optional. They are offered as a chance for you to destress, have fun, and meet people. If Zoom socializing sounds like more work than fun, feel free to sit out; we aren’t taking attendance.

  • You will be receiving a $50 Grubhub voucher to help with meals during these busy days - more details to come by email!

• In-person weekend visits (Sunday - Tuesday), March 13-14 and 27-28.

  • Accepted students will be invited to an in-person visit (vaccination required). With recruits arriving and departing at variable times on Sunday and Tuesday, respectively, most official programming will occur on Monday, including faculty research talks, student panel, and a faculty social.

  • Additional student-hosted activities, tours, meals, etc. will be offered on Sunday and Tuesday.
